All About Me
I have been teaching at Chipeta for the past 10 years and am currently teaching 5th Grade. I was born and raised in Orange County, California and come from a large family – 1 of 8 kids - with 2 sets of twins! I married my high school sweetheart, Doug, and we have been married for 30 years. We have 1 daughter, Rebecca who currently is in her 6th year teaching kindergarten. We have a 10 year old chocolate lab named Annie and a 1 year old yellow lab named Maggie.
I am in my 30th year of teaching and I have previously taught 4th grade (16 years), 1st grade (5 years), 3rd grade (2 years). 6th grade math and GT math (3 years) and 5th grade (4 years). I graduated California State Long Beach with my BA in Speech Communications. I received my Teaching Credential from Concordia University, Irvine as well as my Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
I love living in the Chipeta neighborhood and enjoy seeing my present and past students both in and out of school. My hobbies include bike riding, walking/hiking, reading, sewing, spending time with family and friends.
